Angelina Jolie to adopt a four year old “playmate” for son Maddox
More details have emerged regarding Angelina Jolie’s adoption of a child from Vietnam.
A source has now claimed that rather than going for another baby, Angelina and partner Brad Pitt are looking to adopt a four year old Vietnamese boy from the Tam Binh Orphanage near Ho Chi Minh City to be a “playmate” for five year old son Maddox.
The source, claiming to be a friend of the couple, told People magazine: “It’s wonderful that people are excited about it. But she is only at the beginning of a very comprehensive and detailed process.”
The source added that the process to adopt the boy “began shortly after Shiloh was born [in May last year]” rather than when Angelina and Brad visited the country and orphanage in November.
Vu Duc Long, from the Vietnamese Ministry for Justice International Adoption Department, has asserted that “[Jolie] will have to follow procedure like any other American” but other sources have claimed that she has already been given preferential treatment as adoption is usually restricted to married couples while Angelina has filed as a single woman.
Another source told Us Weekly that there might be an incentive to speed up the adoption process: “[Angelina] promised to give $2 million to the Tam Binh orphanage on the very day she receives the child.”

I feel that Angie needs to lay off the Josephine Baker kick and raise the children she already has! Besides why isn’t she going to the hood or somewhere in the USA to adopt children? Does she feel that foreign people can be easily manipulated?

I think that there are none who can be easily manipulated than Americans, or let us say most of them. Just look at Chrys, the media relates Angelina to Josephine Baker then there are posts about Josephine Baker everywhere. If you know that much about Josephine Baker why do you think did she decide to live outside the USA and raise her rainbow family in France? Probably for the same reasons Angelina chose to do humanitarian works and adopt foreign children. She gave birth to an american child and unlike other actresses she wasn’t bothered by her career and her silhouette to be pregnant. So if she adopts elsewhere it’s because of something else she cares about, but that is beyond the reach of some media and gossip bloggers! I totally agree with the post below. Children are not put up for adoption out of the blue: they are orphans or their parents had to get rid of them out of poverty which is very much the case in poor foreign countries. And they all long for the same thing be them Americans or not: a family and a home.

i’m sure it might have something to do with adoptive parents having very little rights in the states. too many babies are put up for adoption and then years later the bio parents want them back and the courts 9 times out of 10 give those children back to the bio parents. just giving birth to children doesn’t make you a parent! kudos to Angelina Jolie for giving this child a family!

nicely said angelinafan :)
who should judge…she’s giving those babies a family AND she takes care of them unlike some other celebs in the spotlight right now.
