Angelina Jolie: we love the people of New Orleans so we’ll stay

Angelina Jolie has said she and partner Brad Pitt intend to stay in New Orleans for the sake of their children.

She told Newsweek recently that they only intended to spend a month in the city while Brad filmed The Curious Case of Benjamin Button: “[But we] realized it was a place we liked.”

“We liked the people, I liked the school for the kids. They’re very diverse. I liked the other parents. I feel very comfortable with them. We’re happy having our children here.”

“Brad is working on rebuilding here too…. But for me, just as a mom, I love the other parents and the kids and the schools.”

But she’s still got plans to with redevelopment in the wake of Hurricane Katrina in 2005: “I’m starting to work on the education here and the school system here. There’s a lot of work to be done.”

Living in the New Orleans area, I couldn’t be any HAPPIER that Brad and Angelina have made this their home!

Those two exude CLASS.

Good for New Orleans. New Orleans has received so much bad press because of Katrina. You imagine a city that is rife with crime, dysfunctional. Brad and Angelina living there shows that there are aspects of the city which are up and functioning. They also draw attention to the fact that much still needs to be done. New Orleans is one of America’s most historic and important cities. It needs to be rejuvenated and Brad and Angelina are doing their bit.

A recent survey in Australia indicates that young / teen girls no longer idolize or emulate Lindsay Lohan, Paris Hilton & company as they now find them tacky/cheap. ANGELINA JOLIES IS THE ROLE MODEL FOR TEEN GIRLS & WOMEN AT THAT AGE BRACKET. THEY THINK THAT ANGELINA, ALBEIT HER CELEBRITY STATUS, IS MORE REAL AND IN TOUCH WITH LIFE & REALITY. SHE HAS EVOLVED AND IS CONTINUALLY STRIVING TO BE A BETTER PERSON. She will always have her detractors - yes - but her good deeds will always speak for her in many years to come. America should be proud of this citizen.
