Heather Mills has claimed the only reason she agreed to take part in the new series of Dancing with the Stars is to raise money for charity.

She told Access Hollywood recently: “My only reason for doing this show is to raise funds for [animal rights group] Viva!.”

“I’ve [been] told I’m a publicity-seeker, yet I’ve never gone out and done anything.”

She said that she hopes her appearance on the programme will have a positive impact on the perception of physically disabled people because she’ll show “that with an artificial leg, you can still dance.”

“As much as everyone would love it to go flying, I’m sure it’s not going to come off.” But she added she has will have a spare leg nearby “in case I overdo it on the foot and it breaks or something.”
