Britney Spears released from rehab
Britney Spears’s spokesperson has confirmed that Britney checked out of rehab yesterday after completing her treatment programme.
After a few failed starts, Britney admitted herself into Promises Treatment Center in Malibu on the 22nd February and followed programmes for alcohol and drugs dependency. The average stay at Promises is 45 days.
Her manager Larry Rudolph said last night: “Britney has been released by the Promises Malibu Treatment Centre after successfully completeing their programme.”
“We ask that the media respects her privacy as well as those of her family and friends at this time.”
Britney’s time in rehab has reportedly helped repair her relationship with estranged husband Kevin Federline. Along with Britney’s mum Lynne Spears, Kevin has looked after their two sons, Sean and Jayden, while Britney was receiving treatment and repeatedly taken the boys to see their mum. As a consequence, the pair have reportedly agreed to share custody of the children until their divorce is finalised.
A friend of the star’s told the Sun: “Everything changed when Britney went into rehab. She and Kevin started talking again and he’s been a tower of strength for her.”
“Her time in rehab has given Britney a lot of time to think, and has shown her Kevin loves his kids and is a good dad.”
The newspaper also reports that Kevin will be given around $20million as a financial settlement - considerably more than he was expected to receive given the terms of their prenuptial agreement. The figure includes a $2million lump sum, plus half her earnings during their two year marriage and half the proceeds of the home they shared in Malibu.
