Tom Cruise has reportedly told Katie Holmes to cut back on her new found fashion addiction.

Katie is rumoured to have spent almost $200,000 in a single visit to Barney’s department store in Beverly Hills recently, including treating new BFF Victoria Beckham to two pairs of designer shoes. She has also been spotted at other designer stores in the area for clothes for herself and almost year old daughter, Suri.

A source, claiming to be a friend of Katie’s, told Grazia magazine: “Katie looks like she has been moping about having to curtail her shopping sprees. She said Tom wants her to take a break as he thinks it might be sending out the wrong message.”

“He certainly doesn’t have to worry about money and Katie is not on a budget - it seems he just doesn’t want people thinking she is frivolous and all about shopping and money.”
