Keith RichardsThe Rolling Stones’ Keith Richards has revealed he snorted some of his father’s ashes with cocaine after his dad Bert died in 2002.

Keith told the NME recently: “The strangest thing I’ve tried to snort? My father. I snorted my father.”

“He was cremated and I couldn’t resist grinding him up with a little bit of blow. My dad wouldn’t have cared. It went down pretty well, and I’m still alive.”

The 63 year old added that with his penchant for drugs and partying, he is amazed he’s still alive: “I’ve no pretensions about immortality. I’m the same as everyone… just kind of lucky.”

“I was number one on the ‘Who’s likely to die’ list for 10 years. I mean, I was really disappointed when I fell off the list.”

The Rolling Stones 2006 tour had to be pushed back after Keith suffered a head injury while on holiday in Fiji, intially reported as happening after he fell out of a palm tree. He explained: “I wasn’t climbing a tree. I was sitting on a f***ing shrub.”

“[Doctors] cut my head, brain, skull open, went in and pulled out the crap. But that’s the way it is. I mean, s***, Keith Richards has got to do everything once.”
