Heather MillsHeather Mills broke down in tears on live radio yesterday after a listener called in to apologise for misjudging her.

Heather was a guest on Ryan Seacrest’s show in LA when a women called to speak to her.

The woman, Pat, said she wanted to apologise for how Heather has been treated by the media in the US ahead of her appearance on Dancing with the Stars: “She has won me over, and I can admit it, that I had formed a bad opinion about her. I am embarrassed, actually.”

“I’d love to apologise. America should apologise. She was wrongfully treated.”

Heather was heard crying away from the mic then said: “Oh, that makes me so emotional. I’m sorry.”

“I had a choice. I could have gone down … excuse me, you got me going now … sorry … I could have gone down that path of lowering myself to everyone else’s level and proven my innocence.”

“All I did was fall madly in love with someone, give up my life for him for seven years and then be vilified for it.”

“I’ve spent 14 years doing charity work. … If I was a gold digger, I would be a very wealthy woman now. And I’m not.”
