John Travolta was forced to make an emergency landing in Ireland on Monday while flying back to the US from Germany.

John had been on a European promotional tour for his new film Wild Hogs before setting off to pilot his private Boeing 707 jet to New York. His plane suffered “technical difficulties” mid-flight and he was forced to make the landing at Shannon Airport.

An inside source revealed that John was unhurt but shaken by the incident: “If he hadn’t made it to Shannon, it could have been the end of him. You could tell that he was very relieved.”

After recovering, John hired another plane to complete the journey while his own was being repaired.
