Katie Price and Peter AndreKatie Price has said she considers husband Peter Andre to be son Harvey’s real dad after Peter showed his commitment to the boy falling an accident at New York.

Harvey, who is partially blind and has a growth disorder, is Katie’s son from her previous relationship with football Dwight Yorke and the boy spent three weeks at a specialist burns unit in January after badly scalding himself in an accident at New Year.

As she was in the early stages of her third pregnancy, Katie was not allowed to stay with her son all the time but Peter stayed at Harvey’s bedside around the clock.

Katie said recently: “It was a very rough time. We were knackered and worried sick about Harvey.”

“Because he is partially-sighted he would shout ‘Daddy’ to make sure Pete was with him in the room before he could sleep. As far as Harvey is concerned Pete is his dad. He doesn’t really know his own father. Dwight visited the hospital twice and caused grief with the doctors and nurses. I think that speaks for itself.”

“I’m so proud of Pete because he gave up everything to be with Harvey. That’s what I call a real dad.”

“It would be a relief for us if Dwight ever offered to have Harvey for a night, never mind a weekend, but he never has.”

“Harvey needs four lots of medicine in the morning, three in the afternoon and another four at night, which includes an injection which Pete or I give him. He is hard work. I’m not complaining, just explaining. I couldn’t cope with Harvey without Pete and my mum Amy.”

In addition to Harvey, Katie and Peter have a son together, Junior and are expecting a third child in June this year.

Katie added: “Harvey was really jealous when we first brought Junior home but they’re the best of friends now.”

“Junior adores Harvey, he copies him. But has already learned that if he winds him up Harvey will get frustrated and whack him.”

“Junior is a mini Pete - he loves to show off to the camera. I love them both to bits, even though I still feel guilty about the early days after I gave birth to Junior and couldn’t bond with him because of depression.”
