Naomi Watts has spoken publicly for the first time about her pregnancy.

News that Naomi was expecting broke after fashion house Escada mentioned her baby bump in a press release about the dress of theirs that she wore for the Oscars in February and a few days later, her partner Liev Schreiber confirmed the story.

Naomi herself has now said: “It is true that I am pregnant. It’s a little frightening talking about it. This is the first time that I have said it out loud to a journalist.”

“You know, I kind of wanted to keep it private because there is just so much to worry about.”

“I had morning sickness for four weeks at the beginning and I feel congested which is linked to my pregnancy, but otherwise I am at the ‘glowing stage.’”

The baby, Naomi and Liev’s first child together, is due in the summer.
