Girls Aloud summer split rumours continue
Backing up earlier rumours, an inside source has revealed that Girls Aloud are planning to split after their Greatest Hits tour and festival appearances this summer.
The source told the News of the World: “The band will finish this year and all the girls are focusing on what they want to do next.”
“They all feel they’ve done their time in a pop band and have taken it as far as they can go.”
“Like the Spice Girls, they won’t announce they’ve split, just that they have ‘taken a break’.”
The band formed five years ago as part of reality talent show Popstars: The Rivals but now have other plans. Sarah Harding and Nadine Coyle have both expressed acting ambitions - Sarah has said she’s love to be a Bond girl while Nadine is reportedly keen to crack Hollywood to be close to LA based boyfriend Jesse Metcalfe.
According to the newspaper, Kimberley Walsh and Nicola Roberts both have plans to work behind scenes in the music business, leaving Cheryl Cole the only member of the group to pursue a solo career.

It’s a shame but then they were a bit manufactured in the first place so we can’t be that surprised! I wish Nadine would go solo as she is the one in the group with the voice, she has something to go on. Cheryl going solo
though? She’s a chav through and through, her voice isn’t anything good at all and nobody can forget when she gave that poor toilet cleaner an uncalled for bollocking. Oh yeah and she’s slated every other famous person going who have ten times more talent then her (i.e. charlotte church, justin timberlake, two of her victims). Maybe she will be the postergirl for the next two issues of FHM and then retire to being a full time WAG. Good luck to the rest of the girls though!

I agree it’s a total shame! we will miss Girls Aloud… But they have been going nearly 5 yrs they have outlived all expectations but if they all feel it’s time to go there own ways hopefully they’ll all find happyness and sucess in what ever they all decide to do.

I don’t think anyone in the states have ever heard of that group. At least not untill the Lilly Allen thing. Most Americans look at the GA group to be a bunch of douces because Lilly hit here first.
