Marilyn Manson has called his new girlfriend Evan Rachel Wood his “twin”, claiming the couple are much more suited to each other than Marilyn and his estranged wife, Dita Von Teese.

Dita served Marilyn, real name Brian Warner, with divorce papers at New Year after the pair grew apart in their first year of marriage - not helped by Marilyn’s burgeoning friendship with actress Evan.

Marilyn has now told Le Parisien newspaper: “[My] relationship [with Dita] ended at Halloween and I was completely destroyed psychologically. I was married to someone who wanted me to change, become more adult, more responsible.”

“I began not to like myself, not like what I do. I lost my identity. Everything began collapsing around me.”

“[But] I’ve found my double, my twin, with my new girlfriend, Evan Rachel Wood. She’s 19 and certainly that’s very young, but that’s not a problem for me.”

“She likes the same things as me. She understands I like to get up when night falls and go to sleep at dawn.”
