David and Victoria BeckhamDavid Beckham whisked wife Victoria Beckham to Paris as a birthday surprise yesterday - a rumoured £40,000 birthday surprise.

According to sources, Victoria thought she’d be spending her 33rd birthday with David and her sons at their home in Madrid but after receiving homemade cards from her offspring, David told her about the trip.

A source told the Mirror: “Victoria thought that she’d have a really low-key birthday, just going for a Chinese meal with David and their boys. But when she woke up, David asked her to get in the car - he’d already packed a bag full of clothes he’d bought for her.”

“She was overwhelmed to see he’d even managed to get a pair of skinny white jeans from her new collection - she hadn’t even had a production sample in yet so she had no idea how he’d have managed it.”


The couple and their entourage then flew first class to the French capital and a second source told the Sun: “They arrived in Paris at 2pm so they had plenty of time to go shopping before dinner. David had arranged for a group of friends and family to join them for the evening. He is so thoughtful and she had a great day.”

David booked the couple into a £6,000 a night suite at the Ritz hotel in the city, and had the room filled with champagne and flowers. And if that wasn’t enough, the Mirror’s source revealed: “David had spent weeks organising private sessions at the showroom of Christian Louboutin, where Victoria snapped up a pair of £1,500 made-to-measure heels.”

“Then he took her to the studio of one of her all-time favourite designers Azzedine Alaia to select a custom-made £7,000 dress and she was almost overcome.”
