Madonna with her children, Lourdes and DavidMadonna returned to the orphanage in Malawi where she first met son David yesterday and pledged to help the children that remain there.

Madonna took 18 month old David - and her 10 year old daughter Lourdes - to the Home of Hope orphanage in Mchinji, Malawi after a musical performance by the 1500 children in its care, she said: “I might take over the orphanage because the pastor here is getting old and about to retire. I love you and I have all your welfare at heart.”

“I will do my very best to support you all and take care of you in the same way as David.”

“If Malawians will work hand in hand with me, I will help Malawi.”

Madonna and David also met with David’s biological father Yohane Banda during the visit. A member of staff from the orphanage revealed: “David grabbed his father’s hair and just laughed and laughed.”

“Madonna told Yohane that she was proud to be a mother to his son and that Yohane was part of the family.There were tears in both their eyes.”
