  • Starting work on her new film Mad Money has reportedly spurred Katie Holmes into trying to reconnect with her family and old friends too. A source told Life & Style magazine that the actress has contacted a childhood friend Meghann Birie for the first time since she met Tom Cruise in 2005: “She wanted to talk to someone not in Camp Cruise. Katie told Meghann she can’t believe she abandoned her old life. She’s trying to make amends with her family”. The source added that Katie has been “secretly talking to [Catholic] pastors” and wants to enroll one year old daughter Suri in “kiddie Catholicism” classes as she gets older.
  • Paula Abdul reportedly demanded first class perks on a Southwest Airlines flight but was knocked back. An eyewitness on the San Jose to Burbank flight reports Paula “asked to be let on the plane and seated first” and when she was told only people with disabilities or young children could board early, she responded: “But I’m famous! I need to go on first!” The onlooker described her as “twitchy” and keeping her head bowed during the flight.
  • Angelina Jolie has revealed that she took time out to cry while filming A Mighty Heart in India last year. In addition to the constant, persistent presence of the paparazzi, Angelina has told Entertainment Weekly there was a suspected kidnap plot targeting her children: while it was “never any serious threat”, they were advised to move the children’s bed away from windows and the stress of everything occasionally got to the working mum: “If things got too heavy, there’d be a place for me to cry by myself.”
