Former Sugababe Siobhán Donaghy has said she has no regrets about leaving the band even though they’re more successful since her departure because she wouldn’t like being a commercial brand rather than a band.

Siobhán left the band in 2001 after the group’s first album ‘One Touch’ and watched her former bandmates land five number 1 singles and sell over 3.5million albums.

Siobhán, who is set to release her second solo album later this year, said recently: “They are a brand now and that’s not something I could be involved in, we just couldn’t be more different.”

“The things that have happened to me, leaving the Sugababes and then with [the low sales of] my last record, people might think ‘God, she must be gutted’. And it’s been the complete opposite. It’s been wonderful.”

Siobhán was a founding member of the band with Keisha Buchanan and Mutya Buena, and was replaced by Heidi Range. Mutya left the band in 2005 and was replaced by Amelle Berrabah.
