Meg Ryan

  • Meg Ryan has said she finds it hard to see anything positive about being famous. She told Redbook magazine recently “I would say there’s no real upside to fame. No really measurable one. There’s money, but that doesn’t necessarily come along with fame. People always say that they can get dinner reservations, but c’mon. You could always figure out some other way to dinner reservations.”
  • Robert Downey Jr has said he’s bored with discussing his past drug problems in interviews. Robert spent time in jail and rehab while battling his addiction in the 1990s and early 2000s but now he feels he’s done with the issue. He said recently: “The subject’s not off limits, but it’s been three years of literally nothing but that. Unless you see me running down Melrose naked with a bottle in my hand or I get arrested again on narcotics charges, there’s nothing left to discuss.”
  • Anthony Hopkins has said he attributes his successful film career to luck rather than talent. The Golden Globe and Oscar winner said recently regarding his Hollywood success: “Most of it was luck. I’ve never really considered myself as a great actor at all. I look at my contemporaries in the London theatre and they’re much more skilled than me; people like Judi Dench. I’m just a kind of fluke.”
