Natalie Portman has revealed she used to get disturbing fan letters after her controversial roles as a teenager.

At 12, Natalie played an assassin in training in Leon (aka The Professional) - at one point having to attempt to seduce Jean Reno’s hitman - and the object of an older man’s desire in Beautiful Girls when she was 13, which lead to sexually explicit mail.

She told Film and Music magazine recently: “I was a paedophile’s dream! It was weird, and it dictated a lot of my choices afterwards because it scared me.”

“When you’re a little kid you get really excited about it and you think being famous is really cool. But then you get a fan letter and you read it, and you’re like, ‘Eeeeeeugh!’ Terrified.”

“You can imagine what they said. I obviously stopped reading them, but it made me reluctant to do sexy stuff, especially when I was young.”
