She said recently: “My dog is always my boyfriend. Charlie is the best - I got him when I broke up with Brandon Davis. He will always be my number one man and he knows that. The dogs are a huge part of my downtime. Actually, it’s shocking how much you can become absorbed by them.”
  • Kim Basinger has hired round-the-clock bodyguards to keep her ex-husband Alec Baldwin away from their 11 year old daughter, in the wake of last week’s voicemail message leak. According to the New York Post, Kim has stepped up security at their LA home but a friend of Alec’s told the newspaper that Kim is overreacting on purpose: “This is a desperate plea for sympathy when the only danger to the child is inside her own home. What kind of parent leaks a voicemail that causes her daughter significant embarrassment and unneeded attention?”
  • The Tudors star Jonathan Rhys Meyers has checked into rehab after working on a succession of films as well as the new royal TV drama. His spokesperson told People magazine yesterday: “After a non-stop succession of filming, Jonathan Rhys Meyers has entered an alcohol-treatment program. He felt a break was needed to maintain his recovery.” The spokesperson didn’t confirmed where Jonathan was receiving treatment or for how long but added: Jonathan plans to resume his schedule following completion.”
