Lily Allen has revealed she’s amused at the thought of being a new fashion trendsetter.

Lily popularised the look known as “Chav Chic” last year and has designed a range of clothes for New Look, set to go on sale next month.

Speaking of her new style icon status, she said recently: “It makes me laugh. I don’t take it in. I’m in denial about it… I definitely don’t think of myself as any trendsetting, cool person.”

She has been spotted at various fashion week shows but insists she’s not a fashionista: “The reason I went to the shows was to get the free stuff. How much is there? Loads.”

88But not everything is to her fancy - she was given a free Gucci bag but won’t be using it because of the celebrities already associated with it: “It’s soooo Sarah Harding… it’s f***ing vile.”

Lily added that she doubts she’ll become a size zero just to fit in with the fashion scene: “It can be intimidating, because when you work with fashion people, they do kind of give you a sigh as if to say, ‘Ugh, she’s not really thin. This is going to be really difficult.’ It’s annoying. I’m 21 years old, I’m a pretty normal weight - leave me the f*** alone.”
