Suri Cruise with dad Tom CruiseSuri Cruise celebrated her first birthday with pizza, cake and bufferfly-shaped piñatas, according to reports.

A source told People magazine that Suri “loves just being outside right now” so the party was held on the lawn of the family home in Beverly Hills last Wednesday (18th).

The event was very much a family affair: in addition to her mum and dad Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise, both Suri’s grandmothers flew in for the event along with one of Tom’s sisters and nephews.

The source reports that Suri received a gym set, books, dolls and balls as presents - with the later being put into use straightaway: “Suri is walking and talking [now]. Tom and Suri kicked the ball around the lawn during the party.”

But with all the action as well as cupcakes from Sprinkles bakery, the party was a bit of a messy one: “Tom, Katie and Suri were wearing chocolate [by the end of it].”
