Peter Andre’s spokesperson has confirmed that Peter is finally slowly beginning to recover from his mystery illness.

Peter is thought to have had a type of viral meningitis and was hospitalised last week after two weeks of sickness. Doctors have advised him that it’ll take weeks for him to recover fully and ordered him not to return to any work before June.

His spokesperson said yesterday: “It really was touch and go on Friday. But doctors feel he is over the worst and now he feels a bit perkier. Peter is absolutely overwhelmed by all the messages of support he has received. He hates letting people down but everyone understands his health must come first.”

Peter’s wife, Katie Price, has told OK magazine about at the worst points he didn’t even know she was there beside him.

She told the magazine over the weekend: “He’s usually sleeping - or drifting in and out. Yesterday I went in and he didn’t even know I was there.”

“I’m checking on him all day, calling the hospital and then every night I take him a towel in so he can smell home. I am so stressed.”

Katie is currently eight months pregnant with her third child.
