Kate Moss’ fashion range launched at Topshop
Thousands of wannabe shoppers queued up outside Topshop in Oxford Street, London last night to be amongst the first to buy clothes from Kate Moss‘ fashion line for the store.
Kate spent a full 12 seconds posing in one of her creations - a full length red chiffon dress - alongside mannequins in the store’s window around 8pm before retreating to a champagne reception with mum Linda and friends such as Sadie Frost, Meg Matthews and Davina Murphy, attended a champagne reception with the chain’s owner Philip Green.
Kate, Philip and friends were later spotted dining at the China Tang restaurant at the Dorchester Hotel while shoppers, in batches of 150 people at a time, bought items from Kate’s range. To avoid a stampede, wrist bands were issued and the designated groups were only allowed to spend 20 minutes in the store and buy up to five items each.
Hopeful buyers - mostly teenage girls - had started queuing in the early afternoon and the last group of shoppers was allowed into the store just after midnight.
Kate is believed to have been paid around £3million to work on the range alongside designer Katie England. The items went on sale at other Topshop branches across the country today.
