• Paris Hilton is due in court later today to violating probation following her drink-driving arrest last year. Paris was ordered to enter an alcohol education programme, stay sober for 90 days and had her driving license suspended in January after pleading “no contest” to the charge but has reportedly violated each of the rulings. According to TMZ, the Los Angeles City Attorney wants Paris to spend 45 days in jail, be monitored for alcohol consumption with a SCRAM device and have her license suspended for a further four months.
  • Borat star Sacha Baron Cohen has reportedly landed the lead role in a new Freddie Mercury biopic. An inside source told the Mirror that Sacha beat Johnny Depp amongst others to the role: “Film makers are working flat out to get the best possible script. Sacha loves the idea he can get away with playing Freddie after modelling Borat’s look on him.” Mercury died of an AIDS-related illness in 1991.
