Gavin Henson has said he wants to move into the country with girlfriend Charlotte Church so their first child together isn’t raised in the city.

The Welsh rugby star lives in a £500,000 house with Charlotte in Llandaff area of Cardiff but said this week that he’d prefer more rural for his family: “I am not a city boy and I really hate it.”

“I want to move out of Cardiff into the countryside to have a nice country retreat with animals.”

“It will be the perfect place for me and Charlotte to have some more kids. I’m from a big family - my mum has nine siblings.”

He added that the reactions of passers-by when he and Charlotte were involved in a minor car crash last weekend has made him more adamant than ever to get out of the urban environment: “I was really disgusted, nobody came to help us. All these people just took photos of us.”

“Charlotte is pregnant for God’s sake. But that’s what it’s like in the city. That’s why we want to get out to the country.”

Charlotte is due to give birth to their baby in the autumn.
