Charlotte Church’s mum Maria has said Charlotte is adamant about giving birth to her first child in her hometown of Cardiff - and she won’t go down the usual celebrity route of a caesarian birth followed by a tummy-tuck when the baby arrives in the autumn.

Maria told Reveal magazine revealed: “Charlotte’s not too posh to push. There’s no way Charlotte would ever do anything like that. If she has a choice in the matter she won’t opt for a Caesarean.”

“She wants the birth to be as natural as possible - although she will have gas and air.”

“She’s being cared for privately at the moment, but she definitely wants the baby born in Cardiff.”

“She hasn’t decided yet whether to go private or have it on the NHS. Whatever happens she wants the baby to be born in Wales.”

“If she goes into labour while she’s out of the country, she says she’s going to dash back over the border to ensure the baby is Welsh!”

She added that Charlotte and boyfriend Gavin Henson are also looking to avoid the celebrity cliche of picking a strange name for their offspring: “There’s no way she will call her baby something like Apple or Bluebell. She wants to give the baby a traditional name.”
