Brittany Murphy’s spokesperson has confirmed that the actress has married screenwriter/director Simon Monjack.

The pair were rumoured to have married after flashing wedding rings at a Kentucky Derby event at the weekend.

Brittany’s spokesperson has now told People magazine: “They were married at their home in Los Angeles several weeks ago in a very intimate ceremony. It was officiated by a rabbi and they were surrounded by their families.”

Sources at the Kentucky Derby events described the newlyweds as “very cute together” and “inseparable”. An onlooker told the magazine: “They were all over each other - very, very affectionate.”

Brittany is slated to star in Simon’s new film The White Hotel.
