Britney Spears is reportedly refusing to talk to her mum Lynne Spears because of Lynne’s role in getting her into rehab earlier in the year.

As Britney’s wild behaviour reached a climax with her head shaving in February, Lynne flew into LA to look after Britney’s sons Sean and Jayden - but Lynne reportedly also took the opportunity to chastise her first born about her partying lifestyle and “trick” her into entering rehab. Lynne is also said to have expressed dismay over Britney’s plans for a tell-all book.

A source claiming to be a friend of the family told the National Enquirer: “Britney says her mom betrayed her and she refuses to get over it. When she was told to give her mom a call, Britney said: ‘I’m busy, I have my own kids now.’”

Britney even refused to visit Lynne in hospital earlier this month when the senior Spears was treated for pneumonia. The source added: “Britney has cut off all communication with her mom. She’s gone from calling Lynne ten times a day to flat-out refusing to speak to her.”

Meanwhile Britney has posted a message on her official website thanking fans for their support over the last few months. In yesterday’s message, she said: “The reason for this letter is to let everyone know that their prayers have truly helped me. I am so blessed that you care enough about me to be concerned and [I] will continue to live in this brighter state with all of you by my side during this trying time.”

“We are all lights of the world and we all need to continuously inspire others and look to the higher power. You are all in my prayers.”
