Britney Spears reportedly caused a flight to Orlando to be delayed for almost an hour after deciding she couldn’t possibly fly on the plane because it wasn’t luxurious enough.

A fellow passenger told the News of the World: “It was quite astonishing. The doors had been closed for about ten minutes, everyone was strapped in and the plane was about to taxi to the runway when Britney got up and said she had to get off.”

“She just said ‘I don’t want to fly on this plane. It hasn’t got leather seats.’”

“I heard everything but most people were left wondering what was going on, so the captain was forced to make an apology to all the other passengers over the tannoy. He said a passenger wanted to get off so he had to respect their wishes.”

“Eventually the walk-on tunnel was brought back, the doors re-opened and Britney and her entourage - another girl and two men - all got off. Then there was a further delay because their bags had to be found and taken off too.”

“It was quite a fiasco but she didn’t seem to care about anything except getting off that plane. All the passengers were furious.”

The source added that Britney was overheard asking her assistant to charter a private jet to fly her to Florida for the gig at the House of Blues - but she probably now wishes she hadn’t bothered.

Despite weeks of rehearsals at the Millennium Dance Studio, the brief gig was reportedly plagued with setback.

Sources at the gig have revealed that early in her 15-minute set, her lipsynch vocal track started skipping - then if there was any pretence that she was actually singing, her mic broke too.

An audience member reports: “Several people in the audience started booing. It was not pretty!”

“When the CD started skipping, she turned her back to the audience. Then when it stopped, she turned around with this look on her face like she was gonna puke! I really felt bad for her. Then the effin’ thing started skipping really badly again! And then again and again. It was crazy.”

Then she broke her headset mic: “she was rolling on the ground dancing and her face microphone broke and was hanging down at her neck.. and she was embarrassed again! So she tried to push it back up and it went up to her forehead… and then back down to her chest.”
