Paul McCartney & Heather Mills call truce for daughter Bea’s sake
Paul McCartney and Heather Mills have reportedly called a truce in their ongoing divorce battle for the sake of their three year old daughter Bea.
The pair have hardly seen each other over the last year - using their assistants to ferry Bea between them as visitation rights demanded and using the legal team to swap allegations and demands - but were spotted having a friendly meeting together at a London bistro this week.
A source told the News of the World: “It’s an amazing about-turn but they’ve both looked at their behaviour and vowed to get along for Bea’s sake. They were becoming really worried that their rows and the tension between them would have an emotional effect on her.”
“They sat there chatting away - everyone was astonished, especially considering how bitterly they’ve fought over their divorce. When they left they were side by side and seemed very friendly.”
“Paul has promised he’ll settle the divorce by next spring and he’s given her a £1 million interim payment. That’s a huge relief for Heather who had debts to clear and was afraid that it would rumble on for years.”
“Now she wants to do a family thing for Paul’s 65th birthday [next month] with Bea. When this was suggested a few weeks ago, Paul had a really negative view on it. But he’s chilled out about things now, and is considering it. He does feel that as a dad it would be the right thing to do for Bea.”
In return, Heather has promised not to move to the US to pursue her television career: “[Paul] was worried she’d try to settle there and take Bea. But she’s assured him she’ll stay here.”
In related news, Paul has reportedly delayed his next world tour until after the divorce and custody issues are finalised. His new album ‘Memory Almost Full’ is due out next month but won’t tour until after all the legal issues are sorted out.
A source told the Sunday Mirror: “He shares custody of Beatrice. If he went on tour, it would be impossible to look after a kid.”
“And if the divorce is not finalised, Heather could argue she should get some of the profits because the album was inspired by Paul’s time with her.”
