Angelina JolieAfter pledging to be a stay-at-home mum when she adopted new son Pax in March - then flying to Prague to start filming Wanted, Angelina Jolie has now said she’ll take next year off to spend with her children.

Speaking at a promotional event for A Mighty Heart at the Cannes Film Festival this morning, she said: “I’m working this summer. I’m in Prague for a few months, then I take two months off, then I work for two months. And then I take a year off.”

She didn’t say whether partner Brad Pitt would take a career break in 2008 too or whether he would continue working while she looked after their growing brood - up until now they’ve shared responsibility for the children, with one person parenting while they other worked.

She added that as well as being a mum to Maddox, Zahara, Shiloh and Pax, she’ll also spend her time off improving her piloting skills so she can fly the family around. She said: “Brad has his pilot’s license and I just got my instrument rating, so we’re moving forward with that but we haven’t had a lot of time because of the kids and with Pax coming home.”

“I wouldn’t fly the kids at this moment. I would only fly the kids if I had been actively flying for a few months and when I’m not at all rusty.”
