• Hugh Grant is unlikely to face assault charges after the baked-bean hurling incident last month. Hugh was arrested after photographer Ian Whittaker claimed he had been kicked and hit by the flying food tub while trying to take a picture of the actor but according to a police source, the Crown Prosecution Service is unlikely to take further action as “Evidence from two witnesses shows that Mr Grant may have been antagonised.”
  • Eva Mendes has revealed she sometimes found it difficult to work with Joaquin Phoenix while filming We Own the Night. Speaking at the Cannes Film Festival recently she said: “It’s kind of like working with a puppy dog or a two-year-old. When you have its attention, it’s really cute, but otherwise…” But she believes all the hard work is worth it calling Joaquin “one of the greatest actors of my generation.”
