Billie Piper and Chris Evans‘ divorce has been finalised by the High Court today.

The couple, who married in 2001 and split in 2004, are thought to have cited “two years’ separation with consent” as the reason for their divorce to avoid laying any blame.

The couple have remained good friends since their marriage ended and a source told the Daily Mail that they’ve only bothered to finalise the divorce now because Chris is thinking about taking his relationship with new girlfriend Natasha Shishmanian to the next level.

The source told the newspaper: “Chris and Billie’s divorce has been a long time coming and it seemed initially that they were happy to let the matter drift.”

“But over the last few months, Chris and Natasha’s relationship has really taken off - he’s been telling people she may be The One.”

“Throughout their relationship, Billie has been kept in the loop. She and Chris speak virtually every day and she couldn’t be happier for him.”

Billie is currently dating actor Laurence Fox after co-starring with him in West End show Treats.
