With their wedding just around the corner, Penny Lancaster has said she’s in no doubt that her marriage to Rod Stewart will go the distance.

She told the Mirror this week: “We’ve been together nearly eight years now and there’s not much we don’t know about each other.”

“We’re entering into the seriousness of marriage and the commitment for life, and we couldn’t be more sure about it than we are now.”

“It’s not like we’re getting married after six months and then a year later we’ll go, ‘Oh, I didn’t know that about you’, or, ‘I didn’t realise you’d change that much’.”

“We seem to have a secure relationship because we’ve known each other for so long. And he’s not under that pressure to go out and do what a lot of young guys think they need to do, where it’s all about their career.”

“When you’re younger you’re still discovering yourself and still thinking, ‘What if I tried that and what’s around the corner?’ When you’re older you’ve done all that and you’re looking for the perfect person to settle down with and be as content as you can be with.

“All in all, it’s a very reassuring thing to know we’re entering into this marriage that, please God, will go on for ever and ever.”

The couple are keeping the location of their nuptials a secret but it is rumoured to be taking place somewhere on the Italian Riviera.
