Paris Hilton’s mum Kathy and little sister Nicky Hilton have described their visits to see the socialite in jail.

Nicky - and Paris’ on-off boyfriend Stavros Niarchos - visited Paris at the Twin Towers Correctional Facility on Sunday, followed by mum Kathy and dad Rick on Tuesday.

Kathy told People magazine: “It’s tough. It’s just one hour a week: 30 minutes on Sunday and 30 minutes on Tuesday. We talk through glass.”

And [Nicky] left in hysterics. [She] tried to keep the brave face but - I never see Nicky cry.”

Nicky added: “It’s sad. It’s like right out of the movies. The glass partition, the orange jumpsuit. Everything.”

Paris has now been moved back to the Century Regional Detention Center at Lynwood - where she was originally jailed last week - and is expected to stay there for the remainder of her sentence. She could be released as early as 25th June or as late as 17th July depending on whether she is given a reduction from her full 45 day sentence for good behaviour.

Kathy hopes that Paris’ incarceration will ultimately have positive consequences: “I hope this will shine a light on everybody [in those jails]. That’s the positive. [The jails] need financial help, and it’s very sad to see what’s going on in there.”

“I always believe that where there’s a negative there’s a positive. And I feel that maybe this whole ordeal can shed light on other people, and that really maybe everybody should be treated exactly the same. I don’t care who you are.”
