Angelina Jolie has said she was surprised by Brad Pitt’s depth when she first go to know him on the set of Mr & Mrs Smith.

She told Marie Claire magazine recently that she expected him to be a fun friend that she could race motorbikes with but found out he’s “more man than any man” she’s ever met before: “I wouldn’t have, from a distance, said, ‘That’s a man who would be an amazing, dedicated father,’ or ‘That’s a man who truly loves helping people or whom I’d love to talk politics with.’ He’s a lot more than people assume he is.”

She added that he doesn’t let her wallow by herself in depression: “I’ve had that problem in my life, where if I get emotional, I tend to just go [and] sit by myself. But he is a great listener, and he has given me wonderful advice.”
