Paris Hilton being released from jailParis Hilton has been released from jail after 23 days behind bars.

The socialite was released just after midnight local time from Century Regional Detention Facility in Lynwood, California and was greeted not only by her parents but by crowds of photographers and fans.

Paris’ mum and dad Rick & Kathy Hilton arrived at the jail at around 11.35pm and waited patiently in their car until their daughter walked free.

Unlike her stealthy entrance to prison at the start of the month, a source told Us Weekly: “The sheriff’s department made her exit out of the front door, just like any other inmate, so no one would say she was given special treatment.”

Paris Hilton with mum KathyParis emerged from the jail a few minutes after 12am in skinny jeans, a white tshirt and a short-sleeved tailored jacket - which she had reportedly changed into in a public restroom on the way out of the prison. She had tied her hair in a long plait pulled over her shoulder and was wearing a slight touch of makeup.

She shook hands with a few of the deputies present and waved to the assembled crowd before walking over to hug her mum where Kathy waited in the car. She then got in the chauffeured car herself was driven to her parents’ home in Beverly Hills.
