Dina Lohan has confirmed that daughter Lindsay Lohan is set to stay in rehab for longer than original planned.

Lindsay was scheduled to leave her 30 day programme at Promises Treatment Center this week but has decided to stay in the facility for longer.

Dina said yesterday: “She’s going to be doing extended care. It was her choice. She’s doing great.”

A spokesperson for Lindsay, Ty Dux, added: “Lindsay is looking to rebound even better. She wants to prove to everybody that she means it.”

The extended care programme is designed to help patients make the move from rehab back into their everyday lives and will include more time away from the clinic as well as group therapy sessions and adherence to a 12 step programme.

Ty added that Lindsay will celebrate her 21st birthday next week in a private event away from the facility and “no alcohol” will be served.
