• Paul McCartney has said he tries to do his bit to combat climate change by taking the bus when he can. Paul, who is rumoured to be set to close Saturday’s Live Earth concert, told Clash magazine: “I’ll go on a bus and people will look at me a bit weird, you know, ‘What is he doing on a bus?’ And then they go, ‘Well he’s on a bus’, and I go, ‘I’m on a bus’. I make sure I can do it. All you have to do is go and do it.”
  • Jade Goody has been banned from driving for six months and fined £1500 following her arrest late last year. Jade, who finally passed her test last month, admitted to driving her £40,000 BMW on the M1 motorway last November - even though she only held a provision licence and didn’t have compulsory insurance for the car. She was given 14 penalty points, resulting in the six month ban, and only escaped a ban for life because her solicitor explained it is “impracticable for her to use public transport” because of her fame.
