Victoria Beckham has denied claims that Hollywood BFF Tom Cruise has tried to recruit her and husband David Beckham to Scientology.

Victoria told NBC’s Today show recently: “There’s been so much made of the Scientology - the this, the that. They are genuinely lovely people. Wonderful family.”

“They do their thing. We do our thing. They are a wonderful family.”

She has particularly bonded with Katie Holmes: “[She’s] a very strong, sweet, lovely girl. She’s helped me so much with the move. She’s genuinely a nice girl.”

The Beckhams’ big move is expected to take place in the next couple of weeks and Victoria added that while “there are always going to be concerns” with moving her growing sons to a new (paparazzi-filled) country, she believes they’ve made the right decision: “We’ve always really liked America. You know, we like American people. We love the American attitude. So, this is a fantastic opportunity.”

“We don’t ever allow the children to be photographed or filmed. We like them to be normal kids. Anything we do professionally, we try to keep the children out of it. We don’t traipse them up and down the red carpet.”

She also expects the furore around the family to settle down quite quickly once they’re settled in: “We’re going to be quite low-key. There are people that are much more famous in LA than David and myself. We’re not out every night. We’re probably a lot more boring than people think.”

“I’m just a normal girl from London living quite a surreal life.”
