David and Victoria Beckham arrive in LA
After months of anticipation, David and Victoria Beckham have finally completed their move to Los Angeles.
The couple, accompanied by their three sons, flew out of Heathrow airport yesterday afternoon and arrived at LAX yesterday evening (local time).
David and their sons dressed casually - the latter in matching red polo shirts - while Victoria went for a classic black dress, heels and giant sunglasses for the trip through the airports.
Fellow passengers onboard the transatlantic flight provide differing reports on what it was like to travel with the family: some say the group were very friendly towards the staff and were “well behaved” while others say they wouldn’t allow people to approach or take pictures of them.
When they got to LAX though, the no-pictures embargo was lifted as crowds of photographers and reporters captured the couple’s arrival on US soil - the boys however were escorted out of the airport through a private exit away from the media scrum.
A spokesperson for the airport remarked that it was the “biggest media operation” in over five years in addition to 300 fans gathered to welcome the family.
After leaving the airport, the family was taken in two chauffeur-driven, police-escorted cars to their new home in Beverly Hills - the first time that David and the children would see the property in person.
Hours before the family arrived at their new abode, the couple’s new cars were delivered: David opted for a blacked-out Cadillac Esplanade while Victoria picked a customised Bentley GT Cabriolet, with her trademark swirly “VB” etched onto the alloy wheels and stitched into the headrests.
David’s first public appearance with his new team LA Galaxy will take place next week while Victoria’s hour-long reality show Victoria Beckham: Coming To America will be screened on NBC on Monday night.
