So they’ve finally gone. Or arrived, depending on your perspective.

There is a bit of a sense that “we’ve” got rid of them now but if anything we’re going to hear more about them from now on - the whole move to LA thing is a new angle.

I’m not a huge fan of the Beckhams by any means but as a family, I think LA will be good for them:

  • If she makes some good A-list friends (like she has already done), Victoria might pull back on her relentless self-promotion if the A-list think it’s too showy or a D-list activity.
  • It’ll probably be good for David because unlike at Real Madrid (where he was just a footballer), he is now both a player and ambassador for the sport, so LA Galaxy might work better with the other aspects of his life - I doubt the owners of LA Galaxy would stop him going to a A-list wedding like the Real Madrid bosses did over Tom Cruise & Katie Holmes‘ nuptials last year.
  • It’ll also be probably good for their sons - they’ll no longer be completely different from all the other kids for having famous parents. I realise they probably weren’t the only ones with (nationally) famous mums and dads in their private school in Spain but their Hollywood contemporaries probably experience fame on a much bigger scale like they do.
  • The boys might also see a bit more of their mum if she’s not flitting over to LA as much - and that can only be a good thing. Can’t it…?
