Howard Stern: I like being engaged more than married

DJ Howard Stern has said he has no immediate plans to marry fiancee Beth Ostroksky because they are enjoying being engaged.

Howard, who had pledged to never re-marry after his previous 21 year marriage ended in 2001, told People magazine at the weekend: “We don’t really have wedding plans. We’re enjoying being engaged. We like the whole idea of being engaged. We think we like it even more than the idea of being married.”

“I never thought I would get married again. Beth’s a special girl. It just worked out.”

“Sometimes we fantasize about actually having a wedding with the white dress and the whole thing - because I look great in a white dress … But then we think we’d just have some friends over for a party, something like that.”

But while Howard is playing it down, Beth has revealed she’s been making plans since the DJ proposed on Valentine’s Day. She told the Hamptons magazine recently that she’s helping to design her wedding dress and is considering whether or not to take Howard’s name after the nuptials.
