• Girls Aloud’s Sarah Harding believes there is a double standard in the media when it comes to getting drunk. Sarah’s penchant for partying has landed her many column inches in the British tabloid press but she thinks it’s unfair. She’s quoted in the Mirror as saying: “It’s double standards. When blokes get drunk no one bats an eyelid. But when it’s me or Amy Winehouse having a drink… we get slated. It’s not fair. And anyway, what’s wrong with us having a drink? It’s what most girls our age do.”
  • Eva Mendes has revealed she was quite a shock for her family when she was born. She told Jane magazine recently: “I was a total accident, and I was supposed to be a boy. My mother had her ultrasound when she came from Cuba to Miami in the ’70’s, and the doctors told her, ‘You’re having a boy.’ I think it would’ve been cool if she had stuck with the name she’d picked out for me. You could be talking to Javier Mendez right now.”
