Brad PittForget New Orleans, Brad Pitt has reportedly told a friend he and partner Angelina Jolie hope to settle down in Berlin instead.

The couple are rumoured to have bought a house in the German capital and Brad hopes fulfill his architecture ambitions by designing a second property nearby.

According to the Mirror, he told the friend: “We bought this beautiful house in Berlin, and another one I am trying to design myself close to Potsdam.”

“I have signed the contract with two of my German partners and the contract starts in September 2008. I can’t wait.”

“I could start earlier but we have to finish some film projects first. I also want to take time to educate myself on this to be ready for my new career.”

“We already have so many projects waiting and I am trying to travel and get inspiration all over the world and prepare myself.”

He is said to have added that he wants the family to move there sooner rather than later for Angelina’s sake: “I want Angelina to settle down somewhere out of the limelight. She’s lost a lot of weight recently and our plans are strictly to do with our move to Berlin.”

“She wants to leave acting and support me with this.

“We also don’t want our kids to go to school in Hollywood - it will be best if they can go to school in Berlin. We love the city. Berlin is so quiet and balanced, away from paparazzi.”

The couple have previously mentioned plans to have a year off - or retire completely - from their acting careers to raise their family.
