Anne Hathaway: dog vomiting all night landed me Jane Austen role
Anne Hathaway has revealed that she landed the role of Jane Austen in the author’s biopic Becoming Jane after a night of sleep deprivation and dog vomiting.
Anne told the LA Times recently that practially had to beg for an audition in the first place as most of her roles to that point had been fluffy teen roles: “I was associated with tiara flicks. I was at a different stage as an actress.”
“I can’t explain it without going into a lot of back story, but the point was [at the first audtion] I was very polite and safe in my interview. It wasn’t right. So [director Julian Jarrold] called my manager and said, ‘It’s not a no, but certainly not a yes.’ ”
The trio organised a second audition but the night before the big day, Anne’s chocolate labrador “decided to eat the hotel slipper, so she was up the whole night vomiting. I slept maybe an hour.”
“When I arrived at the interview, I was tired and wasn’t in a very good mood. I guess Julian realized that I wasn’t the bright, happy, smiley, untroubled girl from The Princess Diaries. He offered me the role after that.”
“I have to thank the maker of the hotel slipper that poisoned my dog.”

Anne Hathaway is full of c**p, did she learn it from her con-man boyfriend or do these two compulsive liars deserve each other. Things that make you go hmm. She is so insecure and full of c**p, oh I don’t care, I don’t care, this is me, I’m honest. B***h, I know you, you are fooling NO ONE.
