While wife Victoria Beckham is set for a guest role on Ugly Betty, David Beckham is reportedly being lined up for a cameo on Desperate Housewives.

The show’s creator and producer Marc Cherry has said he’s trying to sign up the LA Galaxy player for a guest role on the show - but those Desperate women won’t get their hands on him: Marc sees David and Robbie Williams playing Wisteria Lane’s new gay residents.

Marc is quoted as saying: “David and Robbie are perfect to star as the new neighbours’ best friends - the gorgeous, eccentric couple flown over from Blighty.”

“David’s keen, but though the obvious choice was to work with [David’s close friend] Tom Cruise, we wanted someone who matches him in height and well, Britishness, so Robbie is the one.”

“They’re both funny, game for a laugh and ridiculously macho, so it should work wonderfully. The English are pitch-perfect for sending themselves up.”
