Jennifer Aniston’s relationship with Paul Sculfor was very much hindered by the paparazzi’s interest in the couple, according to a friend of the male model.

British socialite Lady Victoria Hervey dated Paul several years ago but the pair have remained friends since then, and she told Hello magazine recently that one of the reasons Paul split from the former Friends starwas because he couldn’t handle the media attention around their relationship.

Victoria told the magazine: “We’re good friends and I was one of the first people her told about Jennifer. He said she made him happy but he was having to keep under the radar. One minute he’s living a normal life and the next he’s over every magazine and television channel in America.”

“He was given the keys to her house and at one point had to spend a week without leaving it as up to 50 paparazzi at a time were outside waiting to get a picture of the two of them together.”

“[Then] he realized the pressure of fame - it’s something you want until you actually get it.”

However another source close to Paul told Star magazine that it was more than just the paparazzi that worried him about being in the celebrity world.

Paul spent six months in rehab in 2004 to beat a cocaine addiction and being on the celebrity circuit in Hollywood with Jennifer, “he was haunted by the temptation of drugs everywhere he turned”.

“Paul had several heart-to-heart talks with Jen and told her it was best for both of them if they parted. It was Paul who decided to end it.”

Jennifer and Paul were first spotted together at the end of May and broke up last month.
