Christian Slater has decided to curb his hard partying lifestyle when he returns to the London stage later this year - because it’s too expensive and tiring.

After 2004’s One Flew Over The Cuckoo’s Nest, Christian is set to return to the West End stage in a stage adaptation of 1994’s Swimming with Sharks about life in Hollywood, which originally starred other Hollywood-turned-West-End-star Kevin Spacey.

Christian said about his return to the London stage yesterday: “The moment I read this script I knew I had to do it. This is a fantastic, edge of the seat, gripping story told with a wickedly funny wit.”

“It’s a great role, a great play and I can’t wait to get back on to the London stage - it’s like my second home.”

But an expensive second home: “The first time, it was all about the night life and hanging out in the clubs and going to different plays and really seeing how far I could push the envelope.”

“But it ended up costing me a lot of money and a lot of time and I was really getting tired.”
