Cameron DiazCameron Diaz and John Mayer have sparked rumours of a romance after the couple were spotted together enjoying an intimate dinner then a hand-in-hand moonlight stroll.

The pair were spotted at the Indochine restaurant in New York on Tuesday night and an onlooker told the New York Post: “They were very playful and cozy,” enjoying cocktails and they “lingered over dessert.”

According to the New York Daily News, they were “nuzzly and besotted” as they walked down Lafayette St after they finished their meal.

A source close to Cameron told the Post that the two “met years ago at a concert. Their relationship just started, though.”

Cameron has recently been linked to The Holiday co-star Jude Law while John finished with Jessica Simpson at the start of the summer.

Earlier in the day on Tuesday, John had been spotted lunching with Mandy Moore in SoHo but at the premiere of her new film Dedication that evening, Mandy told Extra that there was nothing to the meal: “Oh my goodness. John and I have been friends for years, no romance.”
